Dehydrated Fruit Snacks are so easy to make, much cheaper than buying them already dried and sulphite free and sugar free as well!!! You control what you put on them! I like cinnamon on the apples and bananas but I will be trying more spice varieties soon! Get creative, get dehydrating!
Each dehydrator has its own instructions for different food types so follow those instructions. Instead of adding sulphites for preservation of color, you can choose to add lemon juice mixed with equal parts of water or ascorbic acid. For this batch, I didn’t use anything – they never stay around long enough to worry about extending the shelf life and I think the color of the end product is just fine! Have fun with it!
